2das Volk der Athener und immer sich
3ergeben erwies, allen privat zu
4geben, wessen ein jeder bedurfte, zu Glück
5und Heil!, wolle beschließen das Volk: dass man
6belobige Mikalion S.d. Philon aus Alexandria und
7ihn bekränze mit goldenem Kranz
8gemäß dem Gesetz wegen seiner Leistung und
9seines Wohlwollens gegenüber dem Volk der Athener;
10dass Mikalion und seine Nachkommen
11proxenoi und Wohltäter
12des Volkes der Athener sein sollen und das Recht
13zum Erwerb von Grund und Haus ihnen sein solle
14gemäß dem Gesetz: – Damit auch die anderen
15alle erkennen, dass das Volk diejenigen ehrt,
16die ihm Wohlwollen erzeigen,
17einen jeden nach dessen Wert: dass
18diesen Beschluss aufzeichne der Sekretär
19des Volkes auf eine steinerne Stele und aufstelle
20auf der Akropolis; dass für die Aufzeichnung auf
21der Stele die Trittyarchen
22und der Prüfungsbeamte 30 Drachmen geben aus
23dem Dekret-Fonds des

2the Athenian People and presents himself
3as ever eager to give individually to all
4whatever each needs, for good
5fortune, the People shall decide: to praise
6Mikalion son of Philon of Alexandria
7and to crown him with a gold crown
8according to the law for his excellence and
9good will towards the Athenian People;
10that Mikalion and his descendants
11shall be proxenoi and benefactors
12of the Athenian People; and they shall have
13right of ownership of land and a house
14according to the law, so that everyone else may know
15that the People honours those
16displaying good will to it as
17each deserves; and the secretary of the People
18shall inscribe this decree on a stone stele
19and stand it on the
20acropolis; and for inscribing the
21stele the trittys leaders
22and the inspector shall give 30 drachmas
23from the People’s fund for expenditure
24on decrees.
